4 Recent Shed Burglaries

We are investigating four recent shed burglaries in the local area in which power tools were stolen.
• One burglary occurred on Sussex Road
• Three burglaries occurred on Burnham Avenue

It is believed that the method of entry was likely via the playing fields located behind both Burnham Avenue and Sussex Road. Offenders have targeted sheds and outbuildings, forcing entry and removing high‑value items such as drills, saws and battery-operated tools.

These took place between 10th and the 16th of March 2026. 

Crime Prevention Advice

To help protect your property, please consider the following:

🔹 Secure your shed – Use a good-quality hasp, padlock and hinge locks.
🔹 Upgrade lighting – Motion-activated lights are a strong deterrent.
🔹 Property mark your tools – Use UV pens, engraving, or forensic marking solutions.
🔹 Record serial numbers – Keep a record or register items on Immobilise.com.
🔹 Install a shed alarm – Battery-powered alarms are inexpensive and effective.
🔹 Install rear facing CCTV – Battery-powered CCTV systems can be invaluable in gathering evidence and linking series of crimes.
🔹 Keep valuables out of sight – Avoid leaving high-value tools visible from windows.
🔹 Upgrade your fences – Taller fences with a trellis can help prevent climbing over. Anti-Climb paint will also leave a mark on suspects clothing.
